In just a few days, Bogotá’s Parque Simón Bolívar will transform into a hub of music, energy, and environmental awareness. Festival Cordillera 2025 will bring together a diverse lineup featuring artists such as Rubén Blades, Carlos Vives, Ilia Kuriaky & The Valderramas, Fito Páez, and UB40, among many others, while reinforcing a deep commitment to sustainability. For me, it is a true pride and pleasure to be part of this project: contributing through music and sustainability to make the world a more conscious and vibrant place. This festival promises more than unforgettable performances; it is an experience where music and environmental responsibility merge to create real impact.
🌱 Building Sustainability
Led by Páramo Impacta, the festival’s social and environmental impact initiative, Cordillera is designed to be Zero Waste to landfill and Carbon Neutral. Over the years, the festival has made remarkable progress: more than 58,000 trees planted between 2022 and 2024; waste management improved from 33% to 100%; and the carbon footprint reduced from 969.53 to 367.05 tons of CO₂ equivalent. Beyond offsetting emissions, direct reduction of the footprint is prioritized, proving that it is possible to organize a large-scale festival while taking care of the planet through thoughtful logistics and production.
🌳 Compensation with Meaning
In 2025, the festival’s carbon footprint will be offset with certified credits from The Community Forests, through projects led by Indigenous communities in Caquetá and the Amazon. These initiatives not only protect strategic forests essential for life on the planet but also strengthen territorial sovereignty and the livelihoods of Amazonian communities, showing that sustainability can be tangible, equitable, and transformative.
♻️ Concrete Actions That Make a Difference
- Waste Management: 135 ecological points, reusable cup recycling, and organic waste composting.
- Water Care: dry toilets, rainwater collection sinks, and Airawa atmospheric water generators.
- Clean Energy: solar panels in the Páramo Impacta Village and solar-powered charging stations for mobile devices.
- Sustainable Mobility: incentives for public transport, a fleet of buses, and carbon offsets for artist flights with LATAM Airlines (128 flights, 751 people).
- Inclusion and Wellbeing: waste collectors and formerly incarcerated women participating as EcoGuardians, with training, dignified conditions, and a minimum water provision for all attendees.
🎶 A Lineup That Inspires and Transforms
Music at Cordillera 2025 becomes a powerful vehicle for emotion and awareness. Rubén Blades will connect us with salsa and cultural memory; Carlos Vives will celebrate Colombian identity and joy; Ilia Kuriaky & The Valderramas will radiate energy and flavor; Fito Páez will envelop us in rock and poetry; and UB40 will bring deep, soulful reggae with meaningful messages.
Adding to the rhythm, Orishas will deliver the best of Latin hip hop; Miguel Bosé, a true legend; Paulo Londra, bringing the urban energy of a new generation; the iconic Serú Girán (LeBron and Aznar), symbols of Latin rock; and the freshness of Ximena Sariñana and Belanova, adding pop sensibility and innovation. Music becomes a transformative engine, reminding us that culture and sustainability can go hand in hand, and that the energy of the audience and the talent of the artists generate a positive impact that extends beyond the stage.
🌎 Energía Limpia / Clean Energy and The Community Forests: Amplifying the Impact
From Energía Limpia / Clean Energy, we accompany the festival to show how sustainability can be felt, communicated, and celebrated. The work of The Community Forests ensures that carbon offsets have real impact, protecting strategic ecosystems and supporting the communities that own these territories. The message is clear: sustainability is not an add-on; it is at the core of the experience.
✨ An Invitation to Experience It
Festival Cordillera 2025 is a meeting point where music, environmental awareness, and community converge. Trees, waste management, clean energy, and sustainable mobility are just part of the story attendees will help write. The experience promises rhythm, excitement, and positive impact beyond the stages, inviting everyone to enjoy music consciously and be part of a movement toward real sustainability.
From September 13 to 14, Bogotá will witness a celebration showing that fun and responsibility can coexist, and that the world can be better when culture and sustainability beat together.
Let music and sustainability be felt, celebrated, and lived at Festival Cordillera 2025… and may every note and every action remind us that caring for the planet can also be a joy that you dance and sing. 🎵
