The June 2025 edition of the Vassar Fair, in collaboration with Páramo Impacta, once again became a stage for innovation and sustainability in Bogotá. Among the standout ventures, Madero shone with a proposal that blends design, environmental awareness, and a deep connection with one of the noblest resources: wood.
At Clean Energy, we had the opportunity to speak with its founders, Carlos Llano and Ana María Giraldo, who shared the essence of their project—built on family, consciousness, and a sustainable future. You can find the full interview on our Instagram account: @energialimpiaglobal.

The origin: A passion for purposeful wood
Since 2023, this husband-and-wife duo decided to dive into the world of sustainable entrepreneurship, turning their passion into a lifestyle. Madero is an initiative born in Cali, Colombia, with the goal of handcrafting wooden pieces and distributing eco-conscious home products.
Carlos represents pure creativity. Behind every wooden product lies a deep connection with the raw material that is essential to this skilled carpenter—it represents his life’s project:
“Wood has always been part of human history; it must be renewed, cared for, and respected,” he emphasizes.

Innovation and Responsibility in Every Piece
What sets Madero apart is its sustainable approach. They work exclusively with cultivated Colombian woods such as teak, flormorado, and walnut from coffee-growing regions.
Ana María, the mind behind Madero’s business model, explains that they never consider cutting down trees, no matter how prestigious the wood may be. Instead, they’ve launched a reforestation initiative on their farm in Valle del Cauca:
“We’ve planted around 800 trees to give back to the planet what it gives us,” she explains.
Madero: A model to follow
Madero’s long-term vision remains rooted in craftsmanship. Yet, these entrepreneurs see their business as a pioneer of a new generation of carpenters:
“We want to teach future generations what carpentry used to be, and we want them to join our project,” they affirm.
Madero’s presence at Vassar Fair is no coincidence. Their innovative strategy serves as a beacon for other ventures aiming to generate value without compromising the future. Madero reminds us that design and production can be powerful tools for environmental conservation and the promotion of responsible practices.
At Clean Energy, we applaud Madero’s vision and commitment to sustainability. This is a venture that lights the path toward a future where beauty and functionality go hand in hand with respect for our planet.
