By: Energía Limpia

In the dynamic landscape of renewable energy in Colombia, Cosostenible — a company dedicated to the commercialization and import of photovoltaic equipment and specialized technical support — stands as a strategic player in the country’s energy transition.

From its headquarters in Bogotá and with presence throughout the national territory, Cosostenible has built a business model that goes beyond the simple distribution of solar components: it seeks to accompany, train, and facilitate access to technology for installers and end-users.

Vision and Value Proposition

Cosostenible operates as a wholesaler and importer of photovoltaic equipment, including on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid inverters, lithium batteries, controllers, structures, and solar panels — all certified under Colombian RETIE regulations.
Its main pillars are:

  • Quality and regulatory compliance, ensuring safety and system performance.
  • Technical variety and adaptability, with solutions for grid-connected, autonomous, and hybrid systems.
  • National coverage, enabling reach even in remote regions.
  • Commercial and technical support, strengthening distributors and installers and ensuring successful projects.

Featured Projects

Cosostenible has executed various projects that demonstrate its ability to provide solutions tailored to different contexts:

Popayán Project
A home in Popayán was equipped with a system based on a 10,000 W / 48 V inverter, covering its energy demand with solar power.

Pereira Project
In a farm in Pereira, a hybrid system was installed with a 10 kW inverter and a 5.12 kWh lithium battery, combining solar generation with reliable backup.

Barranquilla Project
For commercial use, a system was implemented with two inverters and panels totaling 28 kWp, reducing energy costs and optimizing clean operations for the business.

Santander (Rionegro) Project
In an area without a stable grid connection, an off-grid system was installed using a 1,500 W inverter-charger compatible with 12-24 V systems, providing energy autonomy in remote environments.

Environmental, Social, and Commercial Impact

Cosostenible’s work is reflected on three levels:

  • Environmental — reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promoting clean generation.
  • Social — training distributors and installers and facilitating access for underserved communities.
  • Commercial — strengthening the distribution channel and enabling solar projects to be scalable and reliable.

Technical Context and Competitive Advantage

Cosostenible stands out for clearly explaining the differences between on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid systems, as well as the factors that influence their selection: consumption, location, grid access, and backup needs.
This technical guidance allows the company to differentiate itself in a market where lack of proper advice often affects the profitability and reliability of projects.

Interview at the Exposolar 2025 Fair

During the Exposolar 2025 Fair, Clean Energy had the opportunity to meet Daniela Luna, Community Manager at Cosostenible, and interview her.

In this conversation, Daniela shared the company’s vision, the challenges of the solar market in Colombia, and the strategies they are implementing to strengthen access to clean energy across the country. We invite you to watch it here:
