Electric mobility is expanding rapidly around the world. From e-bikes to scooters and other light electric vehicles, batteries have become a central component of urban transportation.

But as their use grows, so does a critical question: what happens when those batteries fail?

In many cases, they are simply replaced.

NOWOS is working to change that logic. The company specializes in repairing battery packs used in electric mobility systems, particularly e-bikes. By diagnosing faults and replacing individual components, batteries that would otherwise become waste can return to service.

The principle is simple: repair before replacing.

Extending battery life reduces the demand for new raw materials, lowers the environmental footprint of electric mobility and prevents large volumes of batteries from becoming electronic waste.

As electric transport continues to expand, solutions like this may become essential to building a more circular energy system.

NOWOS is part of the official selection of solutions presented at ChangeNOW 2026 in Paris, where innovators from around the world showcase technologies addressing climate, energy and sustainability challenges.

In the transition to cleaner mobility, progress may depend not only on better batteries, but on learning how to use them longer, repair them more effectively and keep valuable materials in circulation.
